The
Doll : Will the doll let Meg live? |
| |
"Meg lay there, her eyes closed. She was aware of the doll.
Without opening her eyes or turning her head, Meg could feel the
staring eyes. She suddenly felt drowsy after all."
This is the first of many journeys that Meg and the doll will make
into the past where she becomes Morag and is welcomed into the heart
of a warm and loving pioneeer family heading across the prairies
to Fort Carlton.
In the present Meg is sick with rheumatic fever and is also suffering
the emotional strain of her parents' separation. The past, experienced
through the magic of the doll, is much more appealing. But Meg soon
finds out that pioneer life is full of unexpected dangers and it
is not until she looks through the old family album that she finally
learns the truth about " Angel Morag."
