I’m still looking
for a neat title for my Newsletter Page for the Website. Maybe we
should have a little contest. Send me your idea
and I’ll send the person who suggests the one I like best
one of my books (in your e-mail tell me what book you’d like,
and don’t forget to include an address so I know where to
send it).
The Newsletter Page will
tell you what I’m going do be doing over the next few months.
June 10th:
I’m off to Ottawa for some meetings then I’ll be heading
for our cottage at Sauble Beach, Ontario to watch the cardinals
at our bird feeder and get busy writing the next two books. One
is the final in the Angelique series for Penguin’s
Canadian Girls (Angelique VI: Angel in the Snow) and other
is the second in The Spy Who Wasn’t There series for
Coteau Books – The Mayan Adventure. I made quite
a few trips to do research amongst the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan
– Chichen Itza, Coba and Uxmal.
On June 26th
I’ll be at the Canadian Bookseller’s Book Expo in Toronto
autographing On Wings of Evil for Fitzhenry & Whiteside
and the first of The Spy Who Wasn’t There series:
Adventure in Istanbul.
I’m hoping to do
some book launches for these books in Ontario over the Summer. And
July and August I’ll just be busy writing.
I did quite a bit of
travelling in May so I’d like to say a big “Hello”
to all the students I met at Spruceland Elementary School
in Prince George as well as the hundreds of amazing students
who came to the Red Cedar Award ceremonies there. Also “Hi”
to the students who came out to see and hear me at Capilano
Library in North Vancouver, Steveston Library and Surrey Library
– I had a wonderful time in Beautiful British Columbia! Hello
too to all the students to were there for my visit and autographing
at the Batoche Historic Site in Saskatchewan. I
managed to do a little more Angelique research on that trip too!
And, closer to home special “Hi” to the fabulous bunch
of students I talked to at St. Justin’s School, Suzuki
Charter School and of course Delton School
and the terrific people in Mrs. Fergus’ class who set up this
Web Page.
And Hello to Ms.
Bloom’s Grade Six class at Westmount Elementary School
in Kamloops who wrote me some wonderful letters about Ghost Voyages
II.
That’s all for
this letter. Have a fun Summer everyone!
